“An Angel In Alliance With Falsehood” is Valance Drakes’ return to Amek, this time with a rare full-length solo release. Through multi-layered textures, meticulous sound design and breathing rhythmic structures he’s crafted one of the most personal offerings in his ever-evolving discography. Sourced from an array of sonic realms, including recordings from his visits to Sofia, Bulgaria, the album carries an autobiographical sincerity.

 “An Angel In Alliance With Falsehood” consists of ten touching pieces about trust, honesty and belief but about deceit, muted anger and hurt. With the same ease Valance Drakes is transforming sounds, he’s managed to reshape this plethora of polar feelings into beautiful and overwhelming sense of hope.

"Етиологии" is a collection of sonic petroglyphs, washed away from the violent currents of the Black Sea. Discovered, captured and preserved by a human unknown, the album is lingering between the subjective realism of field recording, the delicate waves of emotional ambient and the rusty rattles of noise. Carefully mastered for tape by Marius Costache, "Етиологии" is to be perceived in four gasps of heavy, salty air. With its lengthy sonic explorations Ergomope will take you on his first and maybe last journey to those places where all burnt bridges end, where all broken ladders gather to die, where ancient birds lay down their tattered wings.

amex001 XI-N "Pulsar" CS

"Pulsar" by Turkmenistan-born audio visual artist XI-N is the first release in our brand new tape series EXPERIENCE. Its aim is to preserve and present live recordings captured during Amek Collective events. "Pulsar" is a drifting exploration of generative music. Tense build ups and fragile ambience structure a 30 min long piece divided into two movements where rhythmic figures intertwine with slowly unfolding atmospheres.

These will not be available for distribution and can be only purchased at our Bandcamp store or during events as all proceeds will be used to fund future events.

Music by Dovlet Shyhmyradov, performed live at Fabrika Avtonomia, Sofia on February 3, 2019.
