Jordan Christoff is an artist with an inimitable approach to long-form composition, showcased not only in his solo works but in collaborative projects such as Anarchist Mountains (with his brother Stefan Christoff) and PJS (with Patrick Dique). In 'Residues', his first solo full-length for Amek, it is through subterranean bass drones, vast synths, and tamed abrasive noisescapes that Jordan Christoff succeeds in painting four monumental drone ambient pieces. Exploring the harsher and heavier drone ambient territories, he gives his typically dreamy and multi-layered music just the right amount of rawness and grit to allow the listener to remain not too detached from reality, while comfortably nestled in and breathing the sandy air of 'Residues'.

“Descent” is a two-track collaboration between key Bulgarian ambient acts Shrine and Mytrip. Sharing a passion for loud and textural ambient sound, they delved deeper in organic sounds and looping tonal layers, which are intertwined with sparse industrial soundscapes. This brief musical offering successfully showcases both artists’ signature takes on ambient. The heavy-weight sound production, courtesy of Shrine, makes “Descent” a memorable experience, certainly worth owning on a 7” vinyl.

For over a year we’ve observed the growth and transformation of Undantem’s debut full-length ‘Alterity’. The first glimpses of it were heavy on field recordings and rawer ambient sound. The harshness gradually surrendered to the more majestic and calming dronescape-driven atmosphere, with the field recordings only carefully nuancing the sound and giving it that much needed organic element, that grounds the music in the very realm we’re sharing with its creator.

‘Alterity’ was written in Sofia between 2020-2021 by Irish-born, but Bulgaria-based artist Ronan Considine. This debut album is a lesson in tranquility, patience but also of structure, sense of space and melody. ‘Alterity’ allows you to observe, feel and experience the world it unfolds but maintains a delicate distance, making it harder to senselessly lose yourself in it.

mother spit is Angel Simitchiev & Martin Lukanov and "extraction 19" documents two of their 2019 live performances. The sound of the duo feels most at home in large, badly resonating rooms, where its defective sound artefacts and industrial debris can uncontrollably unfold and mutate into vast and bleak lo-fi soundscapes. mother spit operates with guttural basses, abrasive mid range and synthesised sound that lingers between precision and chaos. Those are let to wander freely into the performance space and only now and then are recaptured, of course, as carelessly as possible.
