Since 2014, enviably prolific Bulgarian producer Evitceles has managed to build an impressive musical discography, which spreads over a multitude of electronic genres and is released across the world by labels like Opal Tapes, Yerevan Tapes, and Seagrave, among others. After his 2021 melancholic drifter "Naive Slumber", Evitceles returns to Amek for his new full-length "Accession".
His first solo vinyl appearance is a gripping and emotional listen from start to finish. Its emotional narrative feels touching and distant at the same time, its overall brooding tone is often disrupted by lighter ambient passages or melancholic synth work. Evitceles is constantly on the lookout for new always raw soundscapes, gritty and loud beats, and his intuitive approach to sampling, field recording, and vocal layering gives his music just the right amount of imperfections and organic elements to keep it personal and human. "Accession" consists of everything one would love about Evitceles' self-described underwater sound but also hints at multiple new directions and aesthetics the project might be headed. Without a doubt, this record will remain a significant piece of the ever-growing Evitceles body of work.
